That is a huge undertaking! My daughter did this once with all of her tons of facebook writing that she had done. When she gets started writing she goes on forever but it is really venting. I wish she had not put it all on facebook.

Thanks so much Tammy... and I know just what you mean. Just yesterday while sorting out a box of family papers and bits and pieces... and cards and letters, I discovered this lovely beautifully hand written note of thanks, folded in handmade pretty coloured paper stuff with beautifully tied ribbons. I can't remember what we did to endear such gratitude, or even the person who wrote the note. At the time I wasn't keeping a journal, because you think you will remember everything... and I used to be able to, *Smile* however, I think our brains get full and we miss place some memories. So despite regrets of the lack of journals of my earlier 30+ years of life... I am grateful that I do write a journal now, and that I can add the memories that I recall from time to time. Thanks for the visit Tammy, hope you have an awesome day, Mands

Thank-you so much for visiting Linda, you are such a sweetheart. Dyslexia is such a challenge, and I still hate writing with a pen or pencil... give me a keyboard any day. However, I seem to have the same problems with touch screens that I have with pens... so hope to keep my keyboards a long time... it's the finger touch that allow me to touch type and keep up with my thoughts. *Smile* When I'm struggling to concentrate and my thoughts are sometimes just incoherent enough that I need to use extra effort... I do two things that often allow me to clear my mind and give me the focus and concentration I need finish. First I go outside and wiggle my toes in the grass and do something like hang washing on the line, I breathe and list all the things I'm grateful for. The blue sky, the sun shine, the birds in the garden... no matter how scattered I am before, this always restores a feeling of balance and calm for me. Then I put one of my favourite songs on to play... and I just let it repeat over and over while I am writing. It drives my family nuts, *Grin* however the music blocks out the background noise and the repetition of the same song doesn't distract me to sing the lyrics in my head... and if I do, then I just let that hyper ~ dyslexic part of my brain sing and dance, while the other part writes. *Smile*

As for the genealogy... it's always fascinated me, however it is, can be and often is all the most frustrating endeavour I have ever pursued. I have been researching Dave's Dads side of the family for more than 20 years... and then a little more than a year ago I had my first break and I went back thirteen generations... and you won't believe their names? *Grin* Lancelot and Grace! *Smile* Really! I'll be adding some interesting bits and pieces I discovered, so will share in the next few weeks. *Smile*

This is beautiful. It's is such a special gift that you can write like you do. A gift that I wish I had. I struggle to write. ADD makes it very difficult for me. And I seem to have a weird sporatic kind of dylexia. Not constant. I have been noticing it more and more lately.

I would love to know more about my grandmother's feelings when she was young. She was a very quiet private person so it is hard to imagine her as young and in love. I don't know that much about my other grandmother in that area either. I do know that she learned to drive late in life about the same time as me, 30ish. Isn't that odd? But then she did me one better, she went to nursing school and got a job. How I wish. My mom is always doing geneology but I never hear any cool stories just list of what everyone had. So I find it very boring.
