What do you give a Woman... When she received toys in childhood? A baby doll with two little dresses and a play pram? Maybe a book or two or three when she learned to read at age five... Little trinkets, baubles and earrings to flirtatiously embrace her youth, Teenage years flying by!
What do you give a Woman... Who served her country, her community, her family, her friends, And when as a Wife and Mother... She gave of her time, her energy.... her kisses and cuddles.... Her love! So generously, so kind... so wholeheartedly all the time.
What do you give a Woman... Who has lived through wars.... feast and famine. Who stood by her children while they were growing older, Teaching them by her daily example, always ready to wipe a tear away, or listen while the frustration of life bubbled over, and embraced life with her ribald sense of humour! Then hid her tears as she waved them good-bye when they left to explore the adventures of life. Letting go and Getting on.
What do you give a Woman... Who was always ready to answer the telephone, Writing letters, never forgetting a birthday with a card, or Christmas morning with the traditional greetings... Serving, listening, inspiring and loving just by who she is!
What do you give a Woman... Who follows tradition by being a wonderful Grandmother, Embracing with generosity and loving kindness. Giving through all the Seasons of life...
What do you give a Woman when she has graciously given so much.... For 80 years! As a daughter, friend, niece, aunt, wife, mother and grandmother!
For the only things this Woman would want... Is to be reminded of the special memories of her life... The times of sadness that enhanced the moments of joy... The tears that flowed to bring appreciation for the spontaneous laughter that bubbled over. The hurt and the pain through loss and saying good-bye. The joy at each birth and celebration. The sharing of happiness... and love... When alone and surrounded by family and friends.
What do you give a Woman who has given so much...
